While Team Fortress 2 doesn't have an official Valentine's Day event, that hasn't stopped the community from celebrating in style. Every February, the TF2 Workshop sees a wave of romantic, absurd, and oddly charming cosmetics, taunts, and maps, all centered around Valentine’s Day themes — and 2025 is no exception.
This year’s batch of community creations has been especially impressive, with dozens of well-crafted submissions gaining traction on the Steam Workshop and social media.
Here are some standout entries that have captured the hearts (and memes) of the TF2 fanbase:
“Cupid’s Crossbow” (Medic Weapon Reskin) – A pink-and-red version of the classic crossbow, complete with heart-shaped bolts and a floating halo particle effect.
“Heavy in Love” Cosmetic Set – Featuring a rose-embroidered vest, heart-shaped sunglasses, and a taunt where Heavy throws chocolates into the air like confetti.
“The Lovebird” (Scout Hat) – A ridiculous, oversized dove perched atop Scout’s head. Flaps when he double jumps. People love it, ironically or not.
“Romance in 2Fort” – A Valentine’s retexture of the classic 2Fort map, with pink lighting, floating hearts, and custom voice lines for capture points. Pure chaos.
Each year, creators use February to flex their Workshop skills with wild seasonal themes. Some submit genuinely creative and well-modeled cosmetics, while others lean into meme territory with purposefully cursed or absurd entries — both are equally celebrated.
Valve typically doesn’t release an official Valentine’s update, but many community servers organize themed events and custom playlists using these creations. Themed loadouts, class duels, and chocolate-covered melee battles have all made appearances across modded servers this month.
In a game with minimal official updates, these community efforts keep the TF2 spirit alive. Valentine’s creations — like those from Smissmas, Halloween, or Summer — give players fresh reasons to return to the game, celebrate its charm, and share laughs with friends.
It’s another reminder that TF2 thrives not because of Valve, but because of its creative, absurd, and fiercely dedicated player base.
